Exhibit Information:

'Exit Saigon, Enter Little Saigon" was created by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program to tell the story of the Vietnamese-American experience in America, from the significant influx in 1975 to the present. It explores the themes of challenge, contribution and change, emphasizing the vibrant diversity of the Vietnamese-American community.  The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) organized the exhibition for travel. San Jose City College is the second venue after its debut at the Viet Art Center in Garden Grove, California, which was sponsored by California State University, Fullerton. The national tour, which will cover 12 to 15 cities through 2010, was made possible through the generosity of Farmers Insurance. The tour broadens the reach of this historic exhibition, which was shown from January through March 2007 at the Smithsonian’s S. Dillon Ripley Center in Washington, D.C.
