THE SMITHSONIAN VIETNAMESE AMERICAN HERITAGE ENDOWMENT

  • How will your experience in making America your home be remembered?
  • How can the general public learn more about Vietnamese American history?
  • What kind of legacy do you want to leave future generations?
  • How can the Vietnamese American perspective be permanently represented at the Smithsonian?

Support the Smithsonian Vietnamese American Heritage Endowment to educate the general public, honor the early pioneers and inspire future generations.   Make it possible for the Smithsonian, to tell the Vietnamese American story through public programs, exhibits, fellowships, research, oral histories, and collections.
The endowment is created in perpetuity.  All donations go to the endowment and the annual interest will be used to fund the programs and expenses.

Vietnamese Americans, among the newest arrivals, can be the FIRST Asian American group to establish a million dollar endowment at the Smithsonian!   Please help us raise the 1 million dollar endowment by 2009.  We are almost halfway to our goal so please give generously.

"Life is full of choices. Devoting time to our jobs and our family claims the bulk of our waking moments and that's called living. Yet, it's important to invest some time for the future. Volunteering my time on such an important project like VietAm lets me contribute towards building a legacy for the next generation. Our children and their children need to know where they come from and how their ancestors fought to get here. It is vitally important that our parents and their parents' stories not be forgotten. I encourage you to invest and contribute today."

I encourage you to join me in ensuring that our contributions and perspectives in American history are reflected at the Smithsonian, the largest museum complex in the world. Many have answered this call and the endowment now has over $250,000 in the fund, primarily from Vietnamese Americans in the greater Washington D.C. area...more
